“Development of a Flight Model for Water and Metal Element Exploration Equipment and Actual Measurement of Lunar Resource Quantities”<\/strong>(LUNAR-RABBIT Project) (https:\/\/www.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/en\/info\/11065\/), represented by Associate Professor Tomokatsu Morota, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science, has been approved for the Space Strategy Fund (2nd Phase) “Elemental technology for lunar surface infrastructure”, which is recruited by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the approval, a kick-off meeting was held at the Koshiba Hall of the University of Tokyo, to advance the project. The meeting included presentations that provided an overview of the management structure, explained the technology development plan, and reported on current progress. During the subsequent question-and-answer session, many comments were exchanged actively, which reaffirmed the high expectations that industry, academic, and government stakeholders have for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
